My Job

I work at a gas station. Technically, it's a grocery store chain that also has a few gas stations. I do occasionally work at the grocery store part of things--even though I loathe that job--but mostly I work at the gas station.

The gas station part is rather nice. I sit in a little booth all by myself and I only have to with customers when they don't pay at the pump. This means that I usually have a lot of free time to read, so I basically get paid to read. Of course when our gas rewards points are expiring, things get crazy busy and I can't read. This only happens every two months or so.

As I said though, I do also work at the grocery store occasionally. It's only about once or twice a month, but even that is often enough to annoy me. When there, I'm either bagging groceries or pushing shopping carts. In either case, I'm on my feet the whole time, which sucks. If I'm pushing carts, it is, despite what some people think, fairly hard work; those things aren't light. It is also annoying because so many people rudely leave their carts in parking spaces and make the job more difficult for me and make it harder for people to park, especially when they leave the car in a handicapped space. Bagging groceries is easier, but involves far more customer interaction, which is something I dislike.

So, to sum it up, work sucks, but anybody who has any job should already know that.
